MY CANDID THOUGHTS PART 4!!!

How did we get here? How did everything become fake? I wonder who brought us this far in our self deception. Sometimes, when I walk in the park, I feel like putting my two hands on my head, but because people will start to ask, "who died", "what happened?" And other Jamb questions, I don't.

Some times I feel like just screaming, but the fear of people asking, "are your people aware of this?", or "are u still using your drugs?", "maybe you should visit a psychiatrist for medical attention." Most times we feel like doing some things, but because it is awkward, we won't.

Why then are we all in deception. I mean self deception! Most of the things we do are complete imitation of what we are exposed to, we have successfully killed our flair, our innate ability to be creative, our self motivated actions are infinitesimal, but we imitate a lot from people. Why? I mean why can't we live the life we really crave, why do we have to live in the acceptable standards of the society.

I see some people, watch MTV base and the next time you see them, their dress sense have drastically taken a new turn, we all want to be like what we see in music videos, we all want to speak like what we heard in movies, we all want to be perceived in a way. When you choose your own unique path, you are tagged "stubborn", "incorrigible", " never yielding", "greedy", "selfish". None ever reflects idiosyncracy. Why do I have to be like another person to be normal?

I see some people go to eatery only to buy table water and collect tooth pick, snap pictures with the table of another person, take selfie around where meals are ordered, then, go on the social media to tag friends, "taking lunch @xyz". Who are you deceiving?

Some are even so shameless that, they abandon their, terribly looking toilets at home and enter banks, eateries, and hotels, make enquiries about what they don't need and ask for their "convenience" only to go snap pictures just to upload on social media tagging friends and claim they are about to have their bath, (Lolz!, inside toilet) you can see where the craze is coming from. Perhaps, Kim K.'s influence on them is really potent.

When you see some people, the only thing that is real on them is their, neck. Because, every other thing is changed. Eye lash no longer theirs but fixed, eye brow-drawn, nose-padded with concealer, cheek-filled with foundation, lips-covered with many lip sticks, hair- another human hair imported, finger nails-fixed and painted. Not even the voice is real, because the way they talk at home to siblings and family members are different from the way they talk to people on the phone.

How then did we get here? Where someone borrows, shirt, trousers, wrist watch, neck chain and blazers suite to take a lady out to dinner. He may even go as far as borrowing a car to take her out, just to create a breathtaking first impression. No wonder there is a lot of heartbreaks. You see someone who speaks clearly when among his homies, but sounds like a damaged base speaker when talking on phone, just to sound sexy they say.

You see them at eatery, taking table water and claiming loss of appetite while the person in front of them is having a swell moment with varieties ordered under their account. And at home, the only thing they can boast of having is "garri", who knows, the money they are spending in public place may even be borrowed.

Everyone just delight in doing what will make others happy, never minding if they ever get REAL happiness for themselves. I keep wondering who is responsible for all these deception we find in our society today, is it the government, the people, our culture, tradition, religion or even ourselves?

You walk on the street and you see different people well dressed, some walk with their heads high whereas in reality they nurse low self esteem, some drive exotic cars they obtain on loans, some have issues, loads of them on the inside, but they smile at everyone, because a book somewhere says its the best thing to do, some have needs, physical or emotional, yet they say; all is well, they move around as though they are living a perfect lives, who do you think is responsible all these self deceptions?

I don't really have answers to these questions but I think if everyone can just be real and live a real life, things would be different from what they are at the moment.

I really wish, we could have anti-pretense vaccines injected into the nerve of everyone so that it forces us to live a candid life. One devoid of fake smiles when the right emotions to express is actually tears.

A kind of life that will make a lady walk up to any man she likes and tell him straight up and not be called a useless girl by the society for stating what her feelings are. One that will make people walk freely without people accusing them of not greeting them when in actual fact they don't feel like talking to anyone.

Can there be a time when we will just wear clothes because they make us comfortable not because they are trendy? Where we just take a walk round the park and nobody is analysing the colour combination of our dress, a time when all that matters to you is how you feel about things not what the people will say.

A time when you can just do things for people not because you are expecting them to do something else in return. A time when people will truly live a satisfying life and not one to please anyone or everyone.

I mean a time when you won't have to go and think your head out because someone said its too big, a time when you won't have to turn the mirror into your bestie because someone said you are ugly, a time when you will appreciate your eyes even though someone said they are too big.

Can there just be a time when all these would make sense? Because I know my thoughts could be overboard at times.

Again, I say thanks for reading my candid thoughts!!!
