OPERATION PYTHON DANCE

toludaniel91@gmail.com

When I first heard of "Operation Python Dance", I thought JetLi is back to spotlight with another hit movie because I felt it is only in JetLi movies that we get to see people fighting like a dancing Python. So I thought if any operation name should include pythons and dance, then it has to involve some sort of JetLi moves. I was flabbergasted when I heard another one called "Crocodile smiles". What kind of crocodile is that!? Maybe it has brain damage, because if a crocodile should smile at me, I would faint five times at once.

Meanwhile, my mouth was left agape and my hands clenched when I learnt "Operation Python Dance" is a military exercise aimed at combating the security challenges in the South- East and is well equipped to deal with the rising cases of insecurity such as IPOB violent secessionist agitations, insurgency among others.

Investigation into the membership of IPOB shows that most of the young people, including its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who parade themselves as agitators spoiling for war were not born before or during the Nigerian civil war which lasted from 1967 to 1970. They have never experienced any war. The implication of this is that war or violence, to them, is like a fairy tale or what is seen in movies.

It is a pity that the youth have always been the tools. They are like circus animals fighting for what they know nothing about. They troop out in numbers for protest as if it is an evangelical crusade, and you will never see them in Church for evangelism. They prefer to run up and down like a chicken whose head has been cut off, you know when you cut off the head of a chicken, it start to run around in a lively way but in fact it is completely dead; that is the fate of this set of political animals. They kill themselves and die for no reason on the street, while their political daddies sit at home on a cushion, and mourn their death with red wine.

There are causes worth dying for, but none worth killing for, and that reminds me of the Nigerian civil war. The war left in its wake colossal damage to property, just as thousands of lives were lost. It will be recalled that before his demise, Ojukwu described the war as a mistake and that such incident should not happen again. According to him, if Nigeria finds itself in another civil war, it means the people who died between 1967 and 1970 died in vain.

Agitating for war is so painful because this is not just some foreign war, it is going to be a war between men, between brothers. The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting. To fight and conquer in battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting. So i want to urge the Nigerian army(operation python dance) to end this without bloodshed because there is no instance of a nation benefiting from prolonged warfare.

If war starts, it would not just be dancing pythons and smiling crocodiles, we would also have crying monkeys.
