MY UNFORGETTABLE CHRISTMAS EXPERIENCE 24th Dec, early 2000s..... It was early in the morning around 7am, a time when the sky is rough with blue as if a 4years old had just painted on a white cardboard. Christmas was around the corner, and as the usual order of things, the neighborhood was noisy with lots of chicken crying for mercy. We were still young, and you know how young ones can be so passionate about Christmas chicken. Mother was going out for one more shopping before Christmas, she woke my brother and I to check on the chicken she bought some days earlier and warned us not to tamper with them, (mothers! they always know when something big is about to happen, they just don't know what, when, where and how it'll happen). All six of them were kept in a temporary home built for them at the backyard; on getting there we found one of the chicken looking sober as if it knew what will soon befall them. My brother had a thing for animals, he couldn't bare th...

THE MYSTERIOUS PEOPLE YOU SEE AT NIGHTCLUBS  (COMEDIC) If you're regular at nightclubs, you would know it's like a seasonal movie with different episodes of people in there.  The groovers, drunkards, gladiators, onlookers, broke, clueless, and even Jonahs!! Now, these calibers of people are extremely exceptional with their sporadic display, especially when they're 'high' as we usually call it in this part of the world. There are some that do not need the devil's mouthwash(alcohol), or other high-lifters to be high, when they step into the club, the spirit of highness bestow upon them and they would start acting like the most high!!  Let's go on a ride, I'll take the characters one after the other, but the funny thing is that you could fall in a category!!  GROOVERS There's a reason why I'm starting with this characters, and it's simply because they are (or so they feel) the reason for the gathering. You see a...

#EPL #Week15 #5 things we learnt this past week on the Epl.

Welcome. Gather round. Sit tight. The English Premier league never fails to live up to the hype every match day, and match day 15 wasn’t a difference really. Saturday started with a 3-1 win for Chelsea, as they took Newcastle to the cleaners, and ended with a 1-3 win for Manchester united, who had David De gea in top form. Liverpool went rogue all over Brighton, with Lewis Dunk scoring yet another own goal. On Sunday, while Southampton managed to hold Bournemouth to a 1-1 draw – courtesy at here Charlie Austin equalizer – there was yet another comeback for the citizens who were made to work extra hard for the three points at home to West ham. But what are the things we learnt this past week on the Epl. Enjoy! David, Our Saviour.   If there was any argument as to who the best goal keeper in the world is at the moment, former Atletico madrid shot stopper, David De gea, has turned the jury to his side after his world class performance against the Gooners. The Spain ...

WEEK 14. FIVE THINGS WE LEARNT THIS PAST WEEK ON THE EPL.

Image
Actions are beginning to come in thick and fast in the English Premier league, as it makes her midweek debut appearance of the season. Manchester United and Arsenal set the ball rolling for a mouthwatering clash in the weekend, as they both were on the winning side of high scoring encounters. Tottenham dropping point is becoming a regularity, and Riyad Mahrez’s magical goal ensured that Spurs were beaten at the King Power stadium. Burnley and Chelsea continued in their splendid form as both teams picked up slim victories against Bournemouth and Swansea, respectively. More importantly, City survived on the back of yet another Sterling performance, as Southampton could not do enough to seal the deal. But here are  the five things we learnt this past week on the EPL.  1. Be Patient, Wilfred Ndidi (Patience) is the next best thing after Kante.  Signed from Belgian side, Genk, the teenage Nigerian midfield sensation, was supposed to come in at Leciester City and...

BY IKECHUKWU KENNETH   Hello guys and welcome to the weekly review of the Epl round of matches. After Week 13 round of matches, it is glaring that there is trouble in Wembley, and Everton isn’t faring better either. Also, both Manchester clubs barely managed to grind out narrow victories, as Chelsea and Liverpool dropped points playing out an entertaining 1-1 draw at the Anfield. Arsenal got lucky against Burnley, and Leciester City held West ham to a draw. But here are the five things we learnt this past week on the EPL.  1.GUESS WHAT THE PULL IS, NOW THAT TONY IS GONE. After the week 12 round of fixtures, West Brom manager, Tony Pulis, was laid off as coach of The Baggies. The now former manager had led the club to a very poor start in  the English Premier league this season, as they currently sit 17th on the log. The scandalous loss against Antonio Conte's men at the Hawthorns was the final straw that broke the camel’s back, and Tony Pulis’ head was on a...

Week #12 resumes with a bang,  from the boring international break, and there were goals aplenty from every corner. Everton fc continue their resurgence, after winning a point from their 2-2 draw at the Selhurst park. Manchester united and Lukaku return to good form, as their noisy neighbors continue their steady march towards the English Premier league title. Liverpool made light work of Southampton, as Sean Dyche's Burnley kept all three points for themselves, against the Swans. Also, there were wins for London clubs, Chelsea and Arsenal, meaning only Tottenham dropped points of the top six.  But what exactly did we come away with this past week on the Epl?  1. Poch’s fear of failure would only kill Tottenham’s hot spur.  Argentine coach, Mauricio Pochettino, has catapulted Tottenham from what they were to the world beaters that they are now, but how much longer before the fans grow tired of the fact that beating the best of the best doesn’t always...
